Managing submissions

View, filter, analyze, and export form submission data

Viewing submissions

To access form submissions:

  1. Navigate to Dashboard → Forms
  2. Click on the form you want to view
  3. The analytics page displays submission data by default
  4. Switch between Analytics, Submissions, and Webhooks tabs

Analytics overview

The Analytics tab provides a comprehensive overview of your form performance:

Total submissions

The total number of times your form has been submitted, including both complete and partial submissions.

Completion rate

Percentage of users who completed all required questions versus those who started but didn't finish.

Response time

Average time users spend filling out your form, helping you optimize form length and complexity.

Question-level analytics

For each question in your form, you can see:

  • Response distribution: For select, radio, and checkbox questions, see how answers are distributed
  • Common answers: Most frequent responses for text fields
  • Rating averages: Mean and median values for rating questions
  • Skip rate: Percentage of users who skipped optional questions

Filtering submissions

Use filters to narrow down and analyze specific subsets of your submission data:

Date range filter

Filter submissions by date range to analyze specific time periods, compare performance over time, or focus on recent activity.

Label filter

Filter by labels you've applied to submissions. This is useful for categorizing submissions by source, priority, status, or any custom criteria.

Completion status

Filter to show only completed submissions or partial submissions where users started but didn't finish the form.

Context filters

If you're using context tracking with widgets, filter submissions by context type or context ID to analyze responses from specific pages or sections of your site.

Individual submissions

Click on any submission in the list to view detailed information:

Submission details include:

  • All answers: Complete responses for every question in the form
  • Submission timestamp: Exact date and time when the form was submitted
  • Completion status: Whether the submission is complete or partial
  • Context information: If available, the page or location where the form was filled out
  • Applied labels: Any labels you've added to categorize this submission
  • User agent: Browser and device information (if available)

Tip: From the individual submission view, you can add or remove labels to help organize and categorize your submissions.

Exporting to CSV

Export your submission data to CSV for further analysis in spreadsheet applications:

How to export

  1. 1. Navigate to your form's analytics page
  2. 2. Apply any filters you want (date range, labels, completion status)
  3. 3. Click the "Export to CSV" button
  4. 4. The CSV file will download with all filtered submission data

CSV file contents:

  • One column for submission timestamp
  • One column for each question in your form
  • Columns for context type and context ID
  • Column for applied labels
  • All data properly formatted for Excel, Google Sheets, or other spreadsheet tools

Use cases for CSV export: Create custom reports, perform advanced analysis, import into CRM systems, share with team members, or create visualizations in other tools.

Test data management

Test submissions are marked automatically when you preview or test your forms:

Working with test data

  • Toggle test data: Use the "Include test data" checkbox at the top of the analytics page
  • Default behavior: Test data is hidden by default to show only real user submissions
  • CSV export: Test data is excluded from CSV exports unless you enable it first
  • Analytics impact: Completion rates and other metrics exclude test submissions

Best practice: Always test your forms before launching to ensure they work correctly. Test submissions won't affect your analytics unless you explicitly include them.

Best practices

  • Regular review: Check submissions regularly to respond promptly to users and identify trends.
  • Use labels: Apply labels to organize submissions by status, priority, or category.
  • Monitor completion rates: Low completion rates may indicate the form is too long or confusing.
  • Export regularly: Back up your data by exporting to CSV periodically.
  • Analyze trends: Use date filters to compare performance across different time periods.
  • Set up webhooks: For time-sensitive forms, configure webhooks for instant notifications.
