Our terms of service, user agreement, and conditions for using Ask Users platform.
1. Agreement to terms
By accessing and using Ask Users ("the Service"), you accept and agree to be bound by the terms and provision of this agreement.
2. Description of service
Ask Users is a comprehensive feedback collection and survey platform that allows website owners to gather user feedback through:
- Survey widgets with 20+ question types (text, multiple choice, ratings, rankings, reactions, dates, etc.)
- Specialized form templates for common use cases (waitlists, feature requests, contact forms, thumbs up/down feedback, etc.)
- Embeddable widgets (inline, popup, modal, floating buttons)
- Hosted survey and form pages
- QR code generation for offline distribution
- Single-use invitation links for targeted surveys
- Analytics and reporting dashboards
- Webhook integrations for real-time data delivery
- CSV data export functionality
- Custom branding (colors, logos, CSS)
3. User accounts
To use certain features of the Service, you must register for an account. You agree to:
- Provide accurate and complete information during registration
- Verify your email address before accessing the Service
- Keep your account information updated
- Maintain the security of your account credentials
- Accept responsibility for all activities under your account
- Use strong passwords and secure authentication methods
- Not share your account credentials with others
You may register using email/password authentication or through Google OAuth. By using OAuth, you also agree to the third-party provider's terms of service.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to use the Service to:
- Violate any laws or regulations
- Infringe on intellectual property rights
- Transmit harmful or malicious code
- Spam or send unsolicited communications
- Interfere with the Service's operation
- Collect user data without proper consent
5. Data and privacy
Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy. We collect and process data as described in our Privacy Policy, including:
- Account information you provide (email, name, company name, preferences)
- Survey and form responses collected through your widgets
- Feedback data (reactions, comments, ratings)
- Usage analytics and metrics (page views, completion rates, response times)
- Technical data for service operation (IP address, browser, device, session data)
- Error logs and performance monitoring data
- Webhook delivery records
6. Widget implementation and integrations
When implementing our widgets, forms, or integrations on your website, you agree to:
- Comply with applicable privacy laws (GDPR, CCPA, etc.)
- Inform users about data collection through privacy policies
- Obtain necessary consents before collecting personal data
- Use widgets and services only for legitimate purposes
- Not modify or reverse-engineer our widget code
- Respect rate limits and fair use policies
- Secure webhook endpoints
- Take responsibility for data shared through webhook integrations with third-party services
7. Intellectual property
The Service and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by Ask Users and are protected by international copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret, and other intellectual property laws.
8. Subscription and billing
We offer multiple subscription tiers with different submission limits:
- Free Plan: 25 submissions per month
- Basic Plan: 2,500 submissions per month
- Business Plan: 10,000 submissions per month
- Business Unlimited Plan: Unlimited submissions per month
All paid plans include all features. Plans differ only in submission limits. Pricing and current plan details are available on our pricing page.
By subscribing to a paid plan, you agree to:
- Pay all applicable fees for your selected plan
- Provide accurate billing information to Stripe (our payment processor)
- Authorize automatic monthly renewals (where applicable)
- Accept our refund and cancellation policies
- Understand that exceeding your plan's submission limit may result in service restrictions
- Upgrade or downgrade your plan as needed through your dashboard
9. Refund and cancellation policy
9.1 Cancellation
You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account dashboard. Upon cancellation:
- Recurring payments will stop immediately
- You will retain access to your paid plan features until the end of your current billing period
- Your account will automatically downgrade to the free plan when your paid period expires
- Your data will be preserved and accessible under the free plan limits
9.2 Refunds
We do not offer refunds for partial billing periods. When you cancel:
- You will not be charged for future billing cycles
- You retain full access until the end of your current paid period
- No refunds are provided for unused time in the current billing period
9.3 Free trial cancellation
If you cancel during your free trial period, you will not be charged. Your account will immediately revert to the free plan.
9.4 Plan changes
You can upgrade or downgrade your plan at any time:
- Upgrades: When upgrading to a higher-tier plan, you will be charged the pro-rated difference for the remaining time in your current billing cycle. The upgrade takes effect immediately.
- Downgrades: When downgrading to a lower-tier plan, the change will take effect at the end of your current billing period. You will retain access to your current plan features until then. No credits or refunds are provided for downgrades.
10. Webhooks
Webhook functionality is available on all plans. When using webhooks:
- You are responsible for the security of your webhook endpoints
- Verify webhook signatures using HMAC SHA-256 to ensure authenticity
- Your endpoints must respond within reasonable timeframes
- Failed webhook deliveries will be retried up to 5 times with exponential backoff
- You are responsible for compliance when sharing data with third-party services
- Monitor webhook delivery logs to ensure successful integration
11. Service availability
While we strive for high availability, we do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may temporarily suspend the Service for maintenance or updates.
12. Termination
We may terminate or suspend your account immediately, without prior notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users or the Service.
13. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.
14. Limitation of liability
In no event shall Ask Users be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including without limitation, loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses.
15. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Ask Users from and against any claims, damages, obligations, losses, liabilities, costs, or debt arising from your use of the Service.
16. Governing law
These Terms shall be interpreted and governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Ask Users operates, without regard to conflict of law provisions.
17. Changes to terms
We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. We will notify users of significant changes via email or through the Service. Continued use after notification constitutes acceptance of the modified terms.
