Get a key
The API is for vendors. First claim your tool's profile with the “Claim this profile” link on its page. Then open your account page and make a key under Reviews API. A key reads the reviews of the tools you manage, and stops working for a tool if you stop managing it. We show it once and keep only a fingerprint of it, so copy it then. You can revoke a key at any time, and it stops working straight away.
Ask for a tool's reviews
Use your tool's address on askusers, the part after /tools/ in its link. Send your key in the Authorization header.
curl https://askusers.org/api/v1/tools/notion/reviews?pageSize=5 \ -H "Authorization: Bearer au_your_key"
Reviews come newest first, 20 at most per page: use page and pageSize to see more. There are no filters, by rating or anything else.

}rating is null until the tool has 3 published reviews, as on askusers. It is weighted by how much we trust each review, so it can differ from a plain average of the stars.
Rules for showing reviews
- Show reviews as the API returns them: newest first, good and bad. Don't pick only the good ones, or hide the bad ones.
- Don't change a review's words or rating. You can shorten long text, ending it with “…” and a link to the full review.
- Link each review to its
url, and show theattributiontext with a link to the tool's page on askusers. - Show each reviewer's name as we give it, and never contact reviewers through what you show.
- Keep copies for a day at most, so edits and removals reach your site too.
- Don't show reviews as your own, or as reviews of another tool.
We may revoke a key that breaks these rules. Reviewers own what they write and agreed to it being shown where it links back to them, which is what these rules make sure of.
Limits and errors
Each key can make 600 requests an hour. Responses can be cached for 5 minutes. Errors come back as JSON with an error message: 400 for a bad page or pageSize, 401 without a working key, 403 for a tool you don't manage, 404 for a tool we don't list, and 429 when a key has made too many requests, or when too many requests without a working key come from one place.
